A little fun fact for you guys: In the book “Spirit of the Wolf” Shaun Ellis tells that wolves have been observed putting snow in their mouth during hunt. According to him they do this to prevent the prey from seeing their breath.
Pretty amazing if it’s true! I’ve never heard/read this before and it’s pretty unbelievable. Wolves, as dogs, can’t sweat so they are depending on cool air to drop body heat. Eating snow during a hunt will help the wolves stay cool and also keeps them hydrated while running. Personally I think this is the more logical explonation.
